Environmental Education

Whipbird Environmental works with schools and outdoor adventure companies to teach people about natural areas restoration, our local flora and gardening. We also offer a range of in-person workshops focusing on everything from regenerating your land to planting a simple herb garden and a wide range of digital learning materials from videos to printable pdfs.

School Groups

We’ve been working with school groups over the last 2 years at Killalea State Park taking students through the basics of bush regeneration. We’ve conducted weed control activities through a large section of remnant rainforest margin and planted over 350 local native plants to extend the canopy in the area. If you are interested in bush regeneration, native gardening or courses on growing food for your school get in touch. We absolutely love teaching young people all about the natural world and how they can help grow a more sustainable future. We cater to all age groups.

Workshops

Whipbird Environmental typically has 2 seasons of workshops each year through Atumn and than later in the Spring. These workshops are designed to be accessible to all ages and we cover topics from natural areas restoration and native gardens to vegetable and herb gardening. In 2022 we’ve been running workshops based on creating Pollinator Gardens. Keep an eye out on our social media and the workshops page for updates on when and where workshops are occuring.

Digital Learning

We’ve been working hard to provide a range of digital assets for a self-paced learning experience. Our digitial learning assets include videos, printable pdf activities and a range of articles on a variety of topics from native plants to veggie gardening.
